For the last four days, the weather reports have changed at least fifty times. What will we end up with? Ice? Wind? Snow? Or nothing...One thing that I do know, it is frigid cold. Yesterday morning, when I woke up, it was 5 with a negative 10 windchill. Right now, we are a balmy 23, which generally means the snow isn't too far off. From the radar, it sure looks like south of us is getting hammered with snow and ice. Me, I'm sitting here4 with a fire going in the wood stove and have had a warm bowl of potato soup for lunch. I got so spoiled over our holiday break being able to lounge around in my warm pajamas...and today is no different.
My mind is already wandering toward spring and gardening. I cannot wait to try out the no till method of gardening this year. I've already ordered my package of non-GMO heirloom seeds and have been shopping for fruit trees. And as soon as I have some free time and it isn't so darned cold, I'm hoping to go look at a greenhouse shed to put back by the garden and look into running electricity to it so we can have some year-round fresh vegetables.
It's only three weeks away from the Frosted Flames book event in Gatlinburg, TN. I've got my room booked and books ordered. I still need to get some swag to hand out, but I haven't decided what it will be yet. I had hoped Yule would be ready for release in time for the event, but it is still with the editor. Once I've done the final edits, it will be off to the formatter. I think I am probably cutting it too short to believe it will be ready. Fingers crossed, though.
I'm trying to decide what to work on next. Will it be another New Orleans vampire story...shall I revisit Possum Creek...do I work on the next Wheel of the Witch...or maybe a sequel to Deadly Vision? While I am trying to figure that all out, I am going to put together a couple of books with stories from anthologies I've contributed to. And before I do that, I have been doing some creative work.
Speaking of creative work, you might say that this is my way of taking a break from the day job and writing. Yesterday, I started a really cute counted cross stitch while I wait for my candle making supplies. Right before we start doing our weekend markets, I'll frame everything I get completed for our booth. Our first market as of right now will be in Scottsburg, IN on April 26th. This looks to be a real interesting event because they are also having workshops on various homesteading topics.
Well, I'm going to sign off for now...hope everyone has a safe and healthy week ahead of them!
