Spring Cleaning...

Writer's picture: Teresa KeeferTeresa Keefer

I've neglected my blog for a couple weeks now...been busy with the spring-cleaning projects. When I clean for spring and fall, I really give things a deep clean. I liken the job to eating an elephant...one bite at a time. With luck on my side, I should be completely done by the end of the month. Then it will be time to start on the outside. Which is preferable to me.

The dogs...particularly the hound...is laying on the sofa like she's worked all day. After waking me up at 5:30 am...which was really 4:30 am since we are on that daylight savings time program. She just had to eat before the sun came up...then when she heard my daughter stir...she went and sat outside her door and whined for a second breakfast. Luckily, we are on to her by now and after some huffing and puffing, she went back to her spot on the sofa. The hound dog drama didn't stop there. When I cleaned the living room, I removed her favorite blanket so that I could wash it and clean the leather sofa. That resulted in frantic pacing because she would not lay back down on the sofa until there was another blanket in place, then she was just fine.

We rewarded ourselves with a trip to the newest bookstore in Indiana this afternoon. Slow Burn Books in Garrett, Indiana is a very nice, eclectic shop located about an hour north of where I live and only about 25 minutes from Fort Wayne. Her grand opening was yesterday, and we definitely plan on making a trip back up there, and there is a massive greenhouse on the way, so we will be stopping there as well.

Last week, I started hitting the gym again. Well, I hit it twice and I'm going to consider all the spring cleaning I did today as an equivalent to eight hours in the gym. It certainly feels like it. Think it's about time to open the hot tub for the summer. Even though it isn't summer yet. It sure would feel good right now, Speaking of feeling good, I treated myself to a thorough massage last weekend. I felt like a new person after it was all said and done.

Just finished up watching the latest episode of 1923. I'll tell you what, Taylor Sheridan sure doesn't disappoint! There is not one of his series that haven't been addictive. I can't even say that I have a favorite. Now, I've switched to the Reacher series and doing the multi-task thing of writing this blog and watching the show. My plan is to wrap up here, then I'm going to curl up in bed with Carolyn Brown's new release that just came out on Friday.

I hope you all are having an awesome March so far. I'm a bit concerned because if the old wives' tale rings true, March has rolled in like a fuzzy little lamb, it's going to roar out of here like a freaking lion and probably hit us with a second winter.

With that said, I'm signing off for now...take care and happy reading!!
