Greetings From Miltown Malbay, County Clare, Ireland

I thought I'd take a few minutes and drop in with a report on our girls' adventures in Ireland.

We started off in Dublin on Thanksgiving Day and had a lovely lunch at a cozy place in Kildare then drove on to Bunratty Castle just in time for a quick walk through. We had an unconventional Thanksgiving Dinner of fish and chips at Durty Nelly's pub before heading on to our cottage here at Miltown Malbay.

Driving is a bit of a trick, not so much because of the driving on the opposite side of the road, but because so many roads are so freaking narrow and winding that it can be nerve wracking if driving at night. But all in all...with the exception of the fender scrape...I didn't find it all that difficult.

Day two we spent in Galway at the Christmas Market and at some absolutely lovely Guinness stew at a quaint little pub called Finnegan's Corner and I have to say, it was the best I've ever eaten.

Day three we drove down to Killarney and took a jaunty ride through the park and up to Ross Castle. Brunch was at the International Hotel and then we drove on to the Ring of Kerry and got some fabulous ocean views. We closed the day down with dinner at The Old Bakehouse for fresh fish and sticky toffee pudding then off to Friel's Pub for some live music. There's something about Irish music that speaks to my soul.

Today was The Burren and Cliffs of Moher. And a lot of exploring back roads in between. Saw a perfect rainbow over the ocean when we stopped for lunch and got some awesome pictures, which I will share later.

This evening, we are just taking it easy at our cottage then we will get up in the morning and head for Dublin for our last night...with a stop at the most haunted castle in Ireland and a tour of Newgrange. Not to mention the Comedy Club tickets for tomorrow night.

With that...I''ll be calling this post a wrap...have a grand evening!!
